If you aren’t familiar with the Eat This, Not That series, then you are truly missing out on some of the greatest eating/food advice out there. The books are so simple to follow and really open your eyes as to what you are putting in your grocery cart and in your mouth/your kids mouth. And the best part is, they don’t advocate not eating it at all! They offer you the healthier version of the same thing. Including ice cream!
The gurus behind Eat This, Not That have a kids book out. It’s awesome. I refer to it when making my grocery list. They currently have a listing of fast foods restaurants where they rate kids menu items. Click HERE to view. The book, however, tells you what to avoid for your kids in the same restaurants and why and more importantly, what to swap out. You’ll be shocked to know the non-evil sounding peanut butter and jelly some places offer is off the charts in sugar and poor in nutrition! I grab the book when going out to guide me in making sound nutritional choices for my daughter.
I know our local Costco and BJs has the books discounted, and you can always find them in local book stores. If you want the ease of internet ordering ,well, they are out there too!
