BATTLESHIP BLAST July 3
Board the Battleship New Jersey and enjoy live music, see animals from the Philadelphia Zoo, meet mascots from area sports teams, have fun with face painting and temporary tattoos, and view the fireworks at dusk. Fee: $10. Battleship New Jersey, Camden, NJ, all ages, 6 pm

RED, WHITE AND BLUE ZOO DAY July 4
Visit the zoo and learn all about native American animals, listen to live music, and go on a treasure hunt. Fee: general admission.  Turtle Back Zoo, West Orange, NJ, all ages, 11 am-4 pm

FOURTH OF JULY FAMILY FESTIVAL July 4
This evening of patriotism and family entertainment includes a variety of performers, historical reenactments, children’s games and activities, plenty of food, and a fireworks display. Free admission. North Branch Park, Bridgewater, NJ, all ages, 5 pm, fireworks at 9:30 pm

MORVEN’S FOURTH OF JULY JUBILEE July 4
Sign the Declaration of Independence, hear tales from a visiting storyteller, enjoy refreshments, tour the museum, and participate in colonial life activities. Free.  Morven Museum and Garden, Princeton, NJ, all ages, 12-3 pm

WARM UP AND PUBLIC READING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDANCE July 4
Stories, riddles, jokes, and an inspection of the troops are just part of the day’s activities. Hear a kid-level explanation of the Declaration, join the public reading, and cheer along as costumed park rangers praise liberty. Free. Morristown National Historical Park, Morristown, NJ, all ages, 12-2 pm
