Climb aboard and enjoy the gentle sway of the cars as they roll along the historic Whippanong Trail. Back at the station, laugh at jokes and watch magic tricks. Also on July 18. Calling all baseball fans and history buffs: watch a reenactment of 19th-century baseball. This afternoon of old-fashioned fun also includes a short lesson on the history of the game, and a recitation of “Casey at the Bat.” Fee: $2/person or $6/family.

Kids Kingdom Travelling Jubilee   7/10
Bring the kids out for an afternoon of musical entertainment, games, rides, crafts, and more. Free admission. Rahway River Park, Rahway and Clark, NJ, all ages, 12-5 pm

Beach Party Family Festival    7/10
Go on a beachy staycation! Make sea-inspired crafts, and learn all about the ocean and its creatures. Admission includes all festival activities and entry to all museum galleries. Fee: $7/child, $10/adult. Morris Museum, Morristown, NJ, all ages, 11 am-4 pm

The Best of Nosing Around   7/9
This wild and wacky show features comedy, magic, clowning, juggling, and lots of audience participation. Bring a camera to take pictures of all the fun. Also July 10. Fee: $8/child, $10/adult. Kelsey Theatre, West Windsor, NJ, all ages, 7/9 at 9:45 and 11:15 am, 7/10 at 10 am, preregister
