WII Games Summer Competition 2010  7/16
Get up off the couch for the first-ever nationwide Wii video game tournament. Families who aren’t competing in the tournament can participate in noncompetitive demos and sample other Wii games. Also July 17 and 18. Free. Liberty State Park’s South Lawn, Jersey City, NJ, all ages, Fri. 11 am-6 pm; Sat. and Sun. 10 am-6 pm

8th Annual New Jersey State Ice Cream Festival 7/17

Who’s got the best ice cream around? Head to this fun-filled family day to sample ice cream and vote for your favorite. Play games, go on rides, watch eating contests, and more. Tasting kits are $7 each.  Downtown Toms River, Toms River, NJ, all ages, 11:30 am-5 pm

Watch Them Grow 7/18
Here, piggy piggy! Help the farmers weigh the piglets born this past spring. General admission. Fosterfields Living Historical Farm, Morristown, NJ, all ages, 1 and 2 pm
